Soccer clinches the Elite 8 while Football’s Season comes to a close

In a stunning performance Princeton Women’s Soccer beat No. 2 UNC, 2 to 1, their final goal occurring in overtime. This win will put them in the NCAA Division 1 Quarterfinals for the first time since 2004. To learn more and watch highlights, click here.

Unfortunately, Tiger Football did not share the same fate as soccer this weekend. Their season concluded with a tough 54-44 loss against Dartmouth this past Saturday. Despite their up and down season, several players shined bright for Tiger Football this year. Including two of our very own Cannon members.

• broke the Princeton single-season receptions record and finished third on the Ivy League list with 92 catches … previous Princeton record was 88 (Kevin Guthrie, 1983)
• broke the Princeton single-season touchdown catches record and finished second in the Ivy League with 14 … previous Princeton record was 11, held by Derek Graham (1983) and Roman Wilson (2013

Jesper is also one of Princeton’s rare two-sport varsity athletes. Tune in to watch him this coming baseball season.

• almost matched the Princeton single-season touchdown receptions record with 11, although Horsted broke the mark one week earlier … as a result Carlson now is second on the Princeton single-season list and 12th on the Ivy League list
