April Affairs

Newest CDE green shirt photo!

I’m back! Another day, another month zoomed past! Seriously, this semester has been on fast-forward. With that being said, I have lots of updates and stories to send your way about all things Cannon! ๐Ÿš€ Let’s dive in! ๐Ÿ™‚

Newest Green Shirt Photo ๐Ÿ™‚

As we do every Spring, we took our annual Green Shirt Photo in front of the cannon. It was a great turnout considering most of us had to sprint to our 1:30 classes after! I always love these pictures, they really show how great our club is. If you would like a good laugh, on the far right is Jeff Sexton (Football 2025) in an X-Small Tee…

Surprise Guest During Lunch…

We had a little visitor during lunch this month. Spring has definitely sprung and we can tell with all of the wildlife around. In fact, a little birdie snuck into the club which made for some fun times and camaraderie. We really put our heads together to get this little dude out safely but man did it make for some laughs. I guess even the birds can’t stay away from the Cannon grub ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here I am attempting to catch the bird and Bill being the very brave second line of defense.

Hot Dog Eating Competition…

One of our Sophomore Officers (or sophicers as we like to say), Scott Becker, had a genius idea to have a club-wide hotdog eating contest. It was a hit! We set up on a gorgeous Monday night, put some music on, and really just had a great time as a club. It was filled with laughter, cheering, and Cannon Pride. I think we all felt really close in that moment and it will be one of my favorite events throughout my time at Cannon for sure.

I even have a video to post that is hilarious…

Baseball player Max Zdimal ’25 was the winner in an enthusiastic competition. Safe to say this could easily become a new Cannon tradition.

Another Great Day for a Wedding…

We hosted another Cannon x Cottage wedding as last Spring’s was a hit. This years’ theme was all things country. One of our members married a Cottage member, and it was so much fun. This is always a great way to collaborate with other clubs on Prospect and introduce them to some Cannon hospitality ๐Ÿ™‚

Parent’s Weekend !!

We had our annual Parent’s Weekend April 19th to the 21st. It was a fun-filled weekend. The turnout was great and all parents enjoyed some great cocktails, an amazing dinner, some fun raffle gifts, and of course a great night in the Cannon basement after. There really is no better way to give back to the people that allow their kids to be in the best club on the street ๐Ÿ™‚

Semis, Formals, and Lawnparties ๐Ÿ™‚

We ended April with a jam packed weekend of club-wide parties and fun. There is no better way to end the Spring semester than enjoying semi-formals, formals, and lawnparties together as a club. We have the best food, the best staff, the best people, and the most fun.

Starting with Semis…

Our semiformal was a Catalina Wine mixer theme. Think lots of floral, wine tasting, and so much Sangria. The food was so fire. I had some steak with lobster ravioli but I heard the lemon ricotta ravioli was the star of the show. This semi was one of my favorite. The weather was amazing, everyone had such a great time, and I can’t wait for our next one ๐Ÿ™‚

Onto Formals…

Our formal theme this year was the Wolf of Wall Street. Think lots of money, lots of gold bars and diamonds, and some cigars. The food was amazing, I shared the NY Strip and the scallops with our social chair Jen Olnowich. Everything was amazing. I also had some crab cake sliders, Philly cheese steak egg rolls, and candied sweet potato tater tots for appetizers. Oh, I forgot to mention I might have had a bit too much champagne as well. Anyways… enjoy some of the pictures from this awesome night.

Lastly Lawnparties…

The weekend was capped off with our lawnparties act which was an electronic and hip hop duo known as Hipppie Sabotage. They have multiple songs with over billions of streams on Spotify and they were a hit. Not only did Cannon love this act but Princeton loved this act. We had people filing in left and right which was so awesome to see. Check out some of the photos below ๐Ÿ™‚

A little video so you can the crowd ๐Ÿ™‚

Until Next Time…

That is all I have for you this month! Up next we have May which means Dean’s Date festivities, REUNIONS, and graduation. I really hope I get to meet everyone at Reunions and hopefully you can put a face to all of these website posts! See you soon ๐Ÿ™‚

All the best,

Mia
