March, Midterms, Marriage, and More!

It is time for another monthly check in! March has flown by but the club has been as lively as ever.

Midterms Week

The month of March started with everyone’s favorite…midterms! This week was followed by Spring Break and then the return to campus mid-March. We have only spent a couple of weeks on campus and back in the club this month. Despite having such little time, there is much to share.

Cannon Wedding

In true Gunner fashion, we welcomed the club back with a Cannon wedding. Two of Cannon’s Men’s and Women’s lacrosse team members, Haven Dora and Jackson Kane, were happily married in our lovely Cannon basement. The officers put up some great decorations and had an amazing cake prepared by our kitchen staff. In recent Cannon history, the two Gunners that were “married” ended up happily dating…will the tradition continue?

Cannon Open House

We also hosted the annual Cannon Open House this March. The club was open to the public for some tours as well as a rundown on “the street,” the eating clubs, and Cannon history. Overall, the event was a hit and the turnout was great! House manager Tommy Matheson did a great job showcasing our Gunner hospitality!

Cannon Athletics

It comes as no surprise that our Cannon athletes excelled on the courts, on the fields, in the rink, etc. This club is home to so many amazing athletes and honestly, keeping up with all of their accolades is incredibly difficult. I swear every other day we have another All-American or championship that I have to post about. I love it! Below I have posted only some of the incredible Gunner feats this March. Between basketball, ice hockey, fencing, and so many more, our Gunners are certainly exceeding all expectations in their sports.

That is all I have for now! I will be back next month for some more Spring updates. Hopefully that will include some warmer weather, outdoor BBQs, a potential club-wide hotdog eating contest, alumni events, and more sporting success!
